Set up your integration with PowerBI
Meet all your reporting needs with our PowerBI integration.
Overview
Plan availability: Advanced with a PowerBI license
Required user role: N/A (Everything is managed directly in PowerBI)
All your data points in Deal can be deployed in your PowerBI account.
Inpart provides a catalog of commonly used reports, but you can easily generate custom reports directly in PowerBI. Supported reports are graphs, lists, PowerPoint one-pagers, and automated reports sent by email. Live graphs can also be embedded in existing PowerPoint presentations, so the graphs are always up to date according to the data in Deal.
Configure the integration with the PowerBI API
Please contact your CSM at Inpart and your internal IT team to help you set up the integration.
The easiest method to integrate your data with PowerBI is to use the open API provided by PowerBI. Your Customer Success Manager at Inpart will provide you with the credentials and a PowerBI file (PBI file) ready to be imported and connected to your data.
The exact information you will need to provide depends on whether you would like us to import the reports for you or if you would prefer to manage them on your own. Below are the two options for setting up your reports.
Licensing requirements
For either option, you will need a PowerBI Pro license or higher to proceed with the integration.
Option 1: The PowerBI service is managed by you
You will manage your own PowerBI service, including deploying reports and managing your workspaces.
In this scenario, you can either create your own reports or have us create them for you. If we create the reports, we'll provide the necessary files for you to import them into your system.
Option 2: Inpart imports the reports for you
If you prefer that we handle the report import process, you will need to provide us with the name of the workspace and a user with the role of "Contributor" in PowerBI.
This user must have access to the workspace so that we can connect to your PowerBI service and import the reports on your behalf.
Configure the integration without the PowerBI API
Please contact your CSM at Inpart and your internal IT team to help you set up the integration.
If you prefer not to use the PowerBI API, there are alternative methods to push and pull data for your integration. Below are the two options available:
Option 1: Push data to a shared drive
If you want your data from Deal to be pushed to a shared drive before being sent to PowerBI, please provide your Customer Success Manager at Inpart with the necessary information to access the shared drive.
We can create an integration using Snaplogic to push your data to a shared drive.
You will need to provide the specific details required for us to connect to your platform, as these details vary depending on the shared drive solution being used.
Option 2: Use a different platform to pull data
If your organization uses a different tool or platform to pull data from the API connection, we can provide the file containing the necessary credentials for you to connect.
In this scenario, the responsibility for pulling and processing the data falls on your team. We will supply the API credentials, and from there, you can handle the integration on your end.
