Create and manage evaluations - New version

Conduct standards evaluations such as CDA approvals, innovation feasibility reviews, or confidential data destruction management.

New vs Legacy evaluations

  • The new evaluation feature offers more functionality and enables you to manage more evaluation use cases than the evaluation feature historically available in opportunities.
  • The new evaluation hub is now available and integrated with Deal, but it needs to be opened separately for now. Direct navigation from Deal will be available on May 26, 2026.

  • Only legacy evaluations are visible on the Deal homepage for now. New evaluations are coming soon.

  • Users with a Contributor role could not create evaluations in the legacy version; they can now do so in the new version.

Overview

Plan availability: Advanced
Please contact your CSM at Inpart to enable this feature on your Deal space.
Required user role: Manage/Contributor

Centralize all evaluations in one flexible hub, and simplify how you evaluate feasibility, risks, value, and strategic alignment by collecting and managing stakeholder feedback in one place.

Access evaluations

Important note: Only legacy evaluations are visible on the Deal homepage for now. New evaluations are coming soon.

  • Evaluations related to opportunities:

Open the opportunity you want to access the evaluations for and click the checkbox to open the Tasks and Evaluations panel.

Then, click the New! Evaluations tab to see the existing evaluations created with the new version.

  • Evaluations related to agreements and alliances:

Open an agreement or alliance and locate the Evaluations panel in the overview. Each evaluation linked to the record appears as a card showing:

  • Title and Description (truncated to one line)
  • Status
  • Response rate — the number of participants who have responded out of the total number of participants
  • Due date — shown for ongoing evaluations only; displayed in red if overdue
  • Completion date — shown for completed evaluations only

If no evaluations have been created yet, the panel displays an empty state.

Click any evaluation card to open the full evaluation in Inpart Assess. It opens in a new browser tab.

To create a new evaluation, open the Evaluations panel and click Create. A new evaluation of type Evaluation is created in Inpart Assess, with the current record set as the related project. It opens automatically in a new browser tab. Complete the evaluation setup in Assess and save.

What's inside evaluations

Inside each evaluation, you will find:

  • The status: Draft, Ongoing, Closed.
  • A link to the related opportunity, agreement, or alliance in Deal.
  • The evaluation owner.
  • A Details section with the start date and a description field.
  • A Shared files and emails section, where you can upload documents.
  • A Settings section to set up your evaluation preferences.

Evaluation statuses

There are three possible statuses: Draft, Ongoing, and Closed, and the content of the evaluation page evolves depending on them. Once the evaluation is Ongoing or Closed, it cannot be turned back to the Draft status.

  • Draft

The Draft phase is when you create the questions that participants will answer during the evaluation, set up the evaluation's parameters, and upload the relevant documents to help participants understand the context of the evaluation and answer the questions.

  • Ongoing

The Ongoing phase is when the evaluation is open for participants to submit their answers. At this point, you can view the answers that have already been submitted.

You can also monitor the number of people who have already submitted their answers and send a reminder to those who haven't.

Click the Add participants button to see the details of who participated. If the survey is anonymous, you won't see the participation status.

  • Closed

The Closed phase occurs automatically when all participants have responded (if this setup was selected in the settings), otherwise you can close it manually. At this point, participants can no longer edit or submit answers.

You can view the number of responses and export the results.

Create evaluations

Required user role: Manager.

You can create an evaluation either from the navigation bar or from the evaluation hub. Click the Create button, and a pop-up will open.

Click the desired object you want to attach the evaluation to: Opportunities, Alliances, or Agreements. Enter its name, select it in the list, and click Confirm.

A new evaluation page will open.

Enter the name, due date, and description of the evaluation. These fields are mandatory to fill out before publishing the evaluation.

Set up questions

You can either use a template, reuse questions from a previous evaluation, or create new ones from scratch.

  • To use a template, click the more option menu, and select Create from template.
See Manage templates for health checks and evaluations.

A pop-up will open where you can select the relevant template.
  • To reuse questions, click Copy from previous assessment.
A pop-up will open, select one of the existing assessments, and click Confirm.

The questions will appear on the new evaluation page. You can then edit, reorder, duplicate, or delete them.
  • To create new questions from scratch, click Add question.

A new blank question will appear.

    You can then:
    • Enter the question title.
    • Choose the answer system:
      • Scale: Define the scale range and denomination of the lowest score to the highest score. You can allow participants to add comments as well.
      • Choice: Enter the possible answers and choose if you want it to be a single or multiple choice. You can allow participants to add comments as well.
      • Text: There is nothing to set up here; a simple text field will appear once the question is published.
    • Once the question format is set up, you can make it required, duplicate it, or delete it.

Choose the evaluation settings

  • Make anonymous: Participant names will be hidden next to the scores.
  • Hide details: Participants won't be able to see the due date or description.
  • Show answers as they come in: Answers will be visible to all Deal Manager users while the assessment is ongoing.
  • Close assessment automatically: The assessment will be closed once all participants have responded.

Upload documents

To give context to the participants and help them answer the questions, you can upload documents that they will be able to download and open.

Click Upload document. You can then either drag and drop any files or upload them from your device.

Invite participants

On the evaluation page, click Add participants.

A pop-up will open. You have two options to share the evaluation.

Only people invited
To share the evaluation with people who are Deal users or registered contacts in Deal.

Select Only people invited, enter the names of the participants, pick them in the drop-down list, and click Confirm.

The selected people will receive an email notification. They will need to click Go to assessment in the email. Then, they will either have to enter their credentials on the login page or they will automatically be logged into the platform if they're already connected, and they will land on the evaluation page.

Anyone with the link
To share the evaluation with people from the companies involved in the alliance but who are not Deal users or registered contacts in Deal.

Select Anyone with the link and enter the domain names of the other parties involved in the alliance. Click Copy link and paste it wherever you want to share it (an email, a shared communication tool, etc).

  1. People who have access to the link will have to click it, and they will land on a page inviting them to sign up for free for the evaluation hub. They will have to enter their email address, check the Inpart privacy policy box, and click Continue.
  2. They will then receive an email. They will have to click Access the assessment.
  3. After that, they will be directed to the login page of the Deal evaluation hub. They will have to enter their first name, last name, select their company, and click Continue to register on the platform. They will then finally land on the evaluation page.

Important: External people who register on the platform to participate in an evaluation are automatically created as external contacts in Deal.

For Deal users who are invited to participate in several evaluations, they can follow up with their submissions in the evaluation hub by selecting the Participate label. They can see their participation status for each evaluation and the due dates.

Send reminders

Send email reminders to participants who haven't participated in the evaluation yet.

Open the evaluation you want to edit, click the more option button, and select Send reminder. All participants who haven't finalized their submission will receive an email notification.

If a reminder has already been sent, you can see when in the more option menu.

Restrict access to evaluations

Required user role: Manager with access to the related opportunity, agreement, alliance in Deal, and/or owner of the evaluation.

You can choose to grant access to an evaluation to a restricted number of users. These users must have access to the related opportunity, agreement, or alliance in Deal as a prerequisite.

In the evaluation page, click Manage access.

Then, click Restrict access.

Edit evaluations

Required user role: Manager.

Important: You can only edit ongoing evaluations, and participants will receive an email notification every time the evaluation is modified.

Open the evaluation you want to edit, click the more option button, and select Edit Assessment. You can edit the due date, the description, the questions, as well as the shared files and emails.

Duplicate evaluations

Required user role: Manager.

Open the evaluation you want to duplicate, click the more option button, and select Duplicate. A new page with the duplicated evaluation will open. The title will display (Copy) at the end. You can rename it the way you want.

All questions, settings, and participants are kept in the newly duplicated evaluation.

Filter evaluations

You can use the search bar to search for a specific evaluation. In this case, only the evaluation titles are being searched.

To search and filter multiple evaluations, go to the evaluation hub, and click Filter.

A filtering panel will open.

Click the filter you want to apply and select the values.

Finally, return to the list of filters and click Apply filters.

Click Clear to remove all the selected filters.

Export evaluations

Required user role: Manager.

Export evaluations' general information

To report on all evaluations, go to the evaluations hub and click Export.

A pop-up will open.

To export the general details of the evaluations to a simple Excel file, select No template, all columns, and click Export.

Export the results of a specific evaluation

To export the detailed results of a single evaluation, open the evaluation (with an Ongoing or Closed status) and click Export.

Select the default Word template and click Export.

Delete evaluations

Required user role: Manager.

Important: Ongoing evaluations cannot be deleted.

Open the evaluation you want to delete, click the more option button, and select Delete.

A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Delete.
