Search for assets and build landscapes in Market Intelligence

Inpart's Market Intelligence enables you to search, build, and analyze a research landscape with clearer data, and in a smarter and faster way.

Overview

Plan availability: Inpart Intelligence
Required user role: Market Intelligence access is granted separately from your Deal role (Manager or Contributor). All users with access have the same permissions.

Easily search harmonized databases with a unified taxonomy to identify strategic opportunities. Gain a detailed view of your landscape, including both new and existing drug assets, mapped by phase and clinical indication.

We currently offer access to the following databases.

Search results are automatically deduplicated and harmonized if they appear in several databases.

Database Subscription type
Your Inpart data Included. Your Inpart data in Market Intelligence may take up to 24 hours to be reflected here after a change is made in Inpart.
Evaluate Pharma Included
Cortellis Requires a separate Cortellis Competitive Intelligence API license
Pharmaprojects Included

Access Market Intelligence

Open the platform link: https://market-intelligence.inpart.app/ and log in with your Inpart credentials.

Search for assets

Important: Projects are shared among all users in your company. The projects you create are consequently visible to all users.

Open the navigation bar and click New project.

You will land on a new search page.

First, select the databases you would like to search: Cortellis, Evaluate Pharma, and/or Pharmaprojects.

Simple search

In the Simple search tab, start selecting criteria to define your search. You must choose values for at least one filter.

Once you're done, enter a name for this search so you can find it in your history later, and click Generate results.

The search may take a few minutes to process. You can navigate out of the page and come back later.

Filter details

  • The text you enter in each field's search bar is automatically normalized to capture a broad range of results. For example, if you enter small molecule, the search also returns small molecules, small molecule drug, or small-molecule.
  • The Indication, Target, and Drug type filters go further: they are based on pharma ontologies, which means they understand how biopharma terms relate to each other. These filters are available when you create a search and when you filter a project's results.
  • Synonyms are matched automatically. For example, searching for NSCLC also returns assets labeled non-small cell lung carcinoma, and PD-L1 also returns assets labeled CD274.
  • Terms are organized in a hierarchy. Values are displayed as a tree: expand a broad term to see its more specific terms. Select a broad term (for example, inflammatory skin diseases or kinase inhibitors) to include all its more specific terms in your search, without selecting them one by one. If you only select some of the specific terms, the broad term is shown as partially selected.

Advanced search

In the Advanced search tab, you can combine criteria with and and or logic and select values with inclusive or exclusive logic (has any of, has all of, has none of) to build more precise searches.

Once you're done, enter a name for this search so you can find it in your history later, and click Generate results.

View your search history

Open the navigation bar, then click Projects to see the full history of search projects. You can also select one of the most recent projects at the bottom of the navigation bar. Each recent project shows its status: In progress while the search is processing, Ready when results are available, or Failed if the search couldn't be completed. If a search fails, try creating it again.

From the Projects page, you can search the project list using keywords and open any past projects. You can also launch a new search by clicking New project.

When you click a project, you will land on a page with the search results as shown below.

Select how to visualize results

On the project page, select your preferred way of visualizing the results using either the Results or Landscape tabs.

Results view

In this view, you can configure which columns to hide or display. Click Configure columns.

Important: Column configuration is persistent and shared between all users.

A side panel will open where you can select the desired columns.

Landscape view

The landscape view displays your results as a bullseye chart:

  • Each ring represents a development phase. The most advanced phase is at the center, and the earliest phase is at the outer edge.
  • Each segment represents a clinical indication.
  • Each point on the chart represents an asset for one indication. If an asset treats several indications shown on the chart, it is plotted once per indication. This means the chart can show more points than there are assets in your results, and the numbers in the legend reflect the points on the chart, not the number of assets.
  • The list next to the chart shows all clinical indications in your results, with the number of assets for each.
  • It is automatically limited to selected/filtered indications.
  • An asset can appear several times, once per indication.

Edit your project search criteria

At the top of the project page, you can see the initial search criteria. To change them, click Edit. You will be redirected to the initial search page, where you can add or remove criteria, and generate the results again.

Filter results

Important: Filters are persistent and shared between all users.

To filter results, click Filter.

If the filtering criterion was included in the initial search, the values drop-down is split into two sub-sections:

  • From initial search: shows the values used in your search, which all results already match.
  • Also found in result: shows other values found in your results, which you can use to narrow them down.

If the filtering criterion wasn't included in the initial search, just select or unselect the relevant values and click Apply filters for each of them.

In the Opportunity status filter, select External to display only the assets that are not in your Inpart data, for example to identify assets your team isn't tracking yet.

You can remove a filter individually, or click Clear all to reset them.

Hide assets from your results

Important: Hidden assets are persistent and shared between all users.

To remove irrelevant assets from your landscape, you can hide them from the results.

On the Results view, click the eye icon on the asset line.

On the Landscape view, click the eye icon on the asset side panel.

To display hidden assets again, just click Show hidden.

What's inside asset profiles

Open an asset profile:

  • If you're on the Results tab, click the asset name in the Asset column or the database name in the Source column.
  • If you're in the Landscape view, click one of the dots.

In both cases, the asset profile will open in a side panel. This panel includes an Opportunities section displaying the existing asset in the related opportunity in Inpart, and a Data sources section displaying the asset profiles from the external databases. An asset can display several profiles from the same database, for example when the database holds separate records for the same drug.

The opportunity displays the current status of the opportunity and the asset.

The Aggregated data fields section displays the harmonized and normalized profile that merges fields from multiple data sources into one streamlined view. The raw data from each database is displayed after this first section to give you a comprehensive view of all the data related to the asset in one place.

To view the full asset profile in the original database, click the external link button next to the source name. You will land on the login page to access the external database in a new tab and see the original profile.

You can also copy the link to the external database to share it with other people. Click the link icon.

Refresh projects' results

The data behind a landscape changes over time: new assets enter the space, development phases progress, and your Inpart data is updated. You can refresh a saved landscape to get the latest data from all its sources, while keeping your existing filters and selections.

Click the Refresh button at the top of the Results or Landscape view.

After the refresh, the landscape shows what has changed since the last refresh, and to display only the changes, toggle the Show changes only option on.

Export projects

Into a CSV/Excel format

Open a project page and click Export.

A pop-up will open. Select whether you want to export your filtered data or the full dataset, and click Export.

The list of results will be automatically downloaded to your device as a CSV file. In this format, values are separated by commas, so if you open the file directly, it may be hard to read: for example, all the data can appear in a single column.

To display the data in readable columns, import the file into Excel instead of opening it:

  1. Open a blank workbook in Excel.
  2. On the Data tab, click From Text/CSV.
  3. Select the downloaded file and click Import.
  4. In the preview window, check that Comma is selected as the delimiter, then click Load.

For more information, see Microsoft's article Import or export text (.txt or .csv) files.

Into a Power BI template

To build your own charts and dashboards from Market Intelligence data, you can use the CSV export with Inpart's Power BI template. The template replicates many Market Intelligence views and lets you customize them to your needs.

It requires a Power BI license, and the setup is handled by Inpart based on your organization's needs.
